Signs of the Psychic City

Based in a public square in downtown Portland, Signs of the Psychic City was a participatory event engaging Portland State University students, and the broader public. Approximately two hundred students, workers, and local residents created wayfinding signs to reveal the unspoken hidden memories, thoughts, and feelings that define their experiences of the area. A week-long installation was created with signs mounted to a series of wayfinding posts, creating a collective psychological portrait of downtown Portland.
